Electricity conservation

• Turn lights, appliances, stereos, TVs etc., off when not in use
• Turn computers, VCRs etc., off instead of using the standby mode
• Use energy-saving light bulbs (they last longer and save power)
• Consider energy efficiency when buying appliances
• Control heating and cooling

In some climates, heating and cooling represent the largest part of household energy use. Make sure your filters are clean. Do not heat or cool when no one is home. Supplement your main cooling/heating system with portable units. Time opening and closing windows and drapes to reduce heating and cooling costs.
