The integration of UEM services for Commercial Multi-Site customers together with ista’s growing Energy Management expertise and the newly launched Energy Intelligence Platform, will position ista as a market leader providing a turn-key solution for these customers (Companies such as restaurant chains, hotel chains, companies operating cellular towers).

Our approach is to build upon the operational data that we already have from our current sub-metering and Utility Expense Management services (outsourced bill pay function). The first layer on top of this data is the expertise our Energy Managers bring by performing on-site energy audits, analyzing historical data and utility rates, and creating utility cost budgets and targets. After optimizing the current utility costs and developing future targets with embedded savings, the next layer implements a monitoring system tracking actual usage (in as real-time as is cost effective to collect) to those targets by providing a dashboard giving transparency and accountability to site managers. This layer is where our new Energy Intelligence Platform utilizes the “Stoplight” concept from existing web based portfolio-wide reports, down to a view designed for an individual site manager - and even to a convenient mobile phone application.

Finally, we add our top layer of services by offering the integration of energy control devices. So we are not just reminding a site manager to turn off the lights or adjust the thermostat after hours, but automatically doing it for him. As the availability of energy management hardware at the right price point and functionality grows, the amount of energy and costs we can help our customers to automate in savings will also grow.

Commercial Utility Bill Data Scrubbing
We take all the data currently being provided by your bill management partner and put it through our “Data-Scrub” software to identify anomalies in the data you are being provided.

Commercial Monitoring “Stop-Light” Service
We take real-time meter data from each of your locations and put it in a unique display format that allows your store managers to see how they are doing real-time against their budgets.

This service allows you to avoid the surprises created by waiting for the bill to arrive at the end of the month in order to see what has happened.

Commercial Utility Bill Management
We manage all aspects of the receipt, review and payment of electric, gas, water, sewer and garbage bills.

Our approach is unique:
 •  All bill data is input into the system electronically (EDI and OCR)
 •  Bills are put through a full audit process but additionally all bills are recalculated using consumption and cost data
 •  All reports are customized and provided to the customer based on client specifications
 •  All bills are paid on a “Just in Time” basis to maximize cash management
 •  Unlike most competitors, no “Float” is taken as part of the payment management process
